OFY Mohala

The Mohala: Blossoming program is for the parents, sponsors, and caregivers of California's Unaccompanied, Undocumented Minors (UUM). The program fosters nurturing relationships and increases the five protective factors among families. Program leaders and participants meet once a week for ten weeks for 1.5-2 hours to discuss topics related to raising children ages 12-18.

Hui International developed the Mohala: Blossoming program as part of a State of California Opportunities for Youth (OFY) Project. Read about the project here.

"I met outstandingly strong women throughout the Mohala program! As a leader, I had the opportunity to listen to their stories and experiences which humbled me tremendously, and in turn, with the program, we shared powerful techniques to build strong family ties and bond with their youth and community resources effectively. I enormously thank Lucy, Hui International Executive Director, for reaching out and entrusting me with my Mohala hui. It was such a fantastic leadership experience that I hope to build upon while continuing to serve my community with such brilliant materials and connections to resources!"
