Hey Yolo! Voting starts May 5th for California's 2026 Primary Election.

Primaries are VERY important. Our votes in June determine who will be on the ballot for Governor in November. Primaries also decide local issues that impact our everyday lives like schools, housing, and taxes. So vote and vote early.

How to Vote

Check your mail for your ballot the 2nd week of May

3 Ways to Vote

By California law, each registered voter will be mailed a ballot by their county election official. Look for your ballot toward the end of the first week in May. Fill it out, sign it, and mail it back on or before June 2nd - Primary Election Day. Earlier is better! It’s easy!

Want to vote in person? Visit a vote center! You may pick up a replacement Vote-by-Mail ballot at a Vote Center, too. Some Vote Centers are open for 11 days and some for 4 days:

Open for 11 Days

  • May 23 to June 1, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • June 2 (Election Day), 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Locations

Open for 4 Days

  • May 30 to June 1, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • June 2 (Election Day), 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Locations

You can also drop your ballot at a Vote Drop Box.

The Yolo County Elections Office placed 16 secure Ballot Drop Boxes throughout the county. Ballot Drop Boxes are available May 5 through June 2. On June 2 (Election Day!), you can drop off your ballot until 8:00PM.

Outdoor Ballot Drop Boxes are open 24/7. Indoor Ballot Drop Box hours vary by location. Vote early!
